Multitasking

Do you ever find yourself starting a project, then before you are finished you've moved on to something else? Then later you remember, oh yeah, I didn't finish what I started earlier! The older we get the more we are apt to start and move on....

Hmm, oh yeah, we were talking about multitasking. What do you ask, does that have to do with me checking in today? Well, I'll tell you...  let me show you instead:

See that kid in the photo, well he has three things going on at the same time. I don't know if you can see it or not but his phone is propped against the dishwashing liquid bottle to his left in front of him, then his plate of carrots and dressing are next, and to top it all off he's holding his switch in his hands. So the kid is watching something on youtube, eating his snack, and playing a game on the switch! So he's got this multitasking scheme down good!

Don't we wish we could do that at over the age of 60? Truth be told I can multitask, but I do find myself starting something, moving on to something else, and then going back to finish the first project. Well, to be honest, I never have finished that second book I've been writing. I write, write, read, read, then write some more, then get bummed out and lock it away for years.... maybe one day I'll finish that task!

Anyway back to the kid, yeah he is my youngest grandchild and he's a joy to be around. Most of the time. This weekend the parents have taken the middle child, Tyler, to a baseball tournament So I'm kid sitting, teenager sitting and dog and cat sitting. And I've been asked to make some homemade chicken soup with cornbread for dinner.

It's after 11 am and the teenager, Kyle, is still in bed! He needs to take the trash out...  maybe I'll have to wake him up... just to be sure he's still breathing! And to take out the trash!

I don't know about you, but from my own observation of parents today... kids do not have enough responsibility. They crawl out of bed at noon or even later, stay up till lord knows when, and then complain because they don't have the latest and greatest gadget on the market! And Christmas is fast approaching, I'm curious to see what all Santa brings this year!

It's been a strange year what with the pandemic and all. Many of us have lost jobs, and the government is fighting about whether or not the people should be given another stimulus check. Lord al mighty! Can't they just sit aside their differences and focus on what is needed right now? I realize both parties have bills they want to pass, but let's face it folks, what should be foremost and forefront, is what is needed to help the american public who have lost wages, and small businesses that need help to stay in business and let the other stuff go until the next legislative go-around. Focus on what is needed now, three things in my opinion 1) a stimulus check, 2) PPE for small business so they can keep their employees working, 3) Supplement unemployment for those that lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now that is my humble opinion which doesn't amount to anything, but I felt the need to express myself. Election day is fast approaching and I hope everyone votes for who they believe is the best person to run our government. I will withhold judgement of who I think that might be as this is not a political forum, nor do I want it to become one. Just do what your heart tells you is right and go vote!

Well back to the kid, he has now moved to the couch with his switch and phone. Still multitasking and doing a very good job of it! The teenager, still in bed... the story of his life....

Well, it's time to start prepping for dinner. Got to get the chicken on to cook for a couple of hours. While it's boiling and simmering, I'll be chopping and preparing the veggies for the soup. I always add veggies to my soup... potatoes, carrots, celery, tomatoes...  other spices...  okay, I'm hungry...  gotta go...catch you later...

Til next time... stay safe, healthy, and God Bless You!!!!
